Building strategic partnerships is key to organizational survival and success. This workshop will use real world examples as workshop case studies to explore the principles, approaches and motivations behind some of the most noteworthy collaborations forged by private and not-for-profit leaders.
In today's complex environment, all organizations in all sectors Private, Public and Non-Profit must build successful partnerships to be able to accomplish the missions of purpose today. No organization no matter how large or how small cannot be successful today in reaching their goals without forging high quality partnerships with organizations who are in alignment with their vision and purpose.
Building strategic partnerships for the nonprofit, government, and private sectors is a key ingredient to organizational survival and health. It is also a major challenge due to the differences of culture across the types of organizations who must be able to work together.

- Know the principles associated with managing partnerships and model behavior that facilitates collaboration.
- Identify techniques for examining and evaluating partnerships and utilize them in analyzing these collaborative relationships.
- Understand the relationship between trust and formal and informal agreements in developing and managing partnerships.

Leading a Diverse Culture Workplace
With increased globalization, different cultures, beliefs, and values become important aspects that the organization's leadership must understand and address. Cultural differences may result in conflict or ineffective and inefficient work groups and teams. Leaders who understand their own behaviors and beliefs are better able to acknowledge and embrace cultural differences and understand the implications of the global market and human capital strategies. This course will explore the dimensions of diversity, cross-cultural models, assessment tools, and best practices to improve cross-cultural relationships. Effective team building and the impact of team building activities on culturally diverse populations will be discussed. In addition to assigned readings and student projects, this course will include an international experience.

Topics include managerial style and decision making; problem discovery and diagnosis; the search for solutions, evaluation and choice; group decision making, decision aids and support systems, risk analysis.

This course provides an overview of the principles of organizational change in order to develop the knowledge skills and abilities to design and/or oversee basic change efforts, understand the change process along with the tools to conduct basic change efforts. The ability to change vs. essential for health individual and organizational growth and development, but change is often resisted for a variety of reasons.

Leaders of the 21st century can no longer deal just with change: they must be able to create, discover and invent new ways of thinking, new ways of dealing with great changes yet to come and new ways of building organizations. Students will engage in highly interactive stimulations and other exercises that require willingness and ability to challenge convention, shift paradigms, communicate effectively, and challenge the status quo in order to develop unusual solutions to usual problems.
